So the adwords quality score has been recently updated whereby the changes were summarised as followed at adwords blog:
1) Quality Score will now be more accurate because it will be calculated at the time of each search query
2) Keywords will no longer be marked ‘inactive for search’
3) ‘First page bid’ will replace ‘minimum bid’ in your account
It’s also interesting to know that first page bid will be partly based on “exact match” version of a keyword.
First page bids are an estimate of the bid it would take for your ad to reach the first page of search results on Google web search. They’re based on the exact match version of the keyword, the ad’s Quality Score, and current advertiser competition on that keyword.
The adwords blog posted two post which did a good explantation of the changes which can be read here (Aug 2008) and here (Sept 2008)
