There’s always 2 sides of a coin, right? It’s true that we are now in a recession, and gloomy headlines reporting how many jobs are cut and how many people are laid off doesn’t seem to help much. But are we only focusing too much on one side of the coin?

Upgraded To Microsoft Office 2007, Excel 2007 Rocks
The main reason for the upgrade was because of row and column limits in Excel 2003 and now I have no problem opening large datafeeds. Another feature I find really useful is the drop down function list in Excel 2007 which makes it really easy to lookup functions to use in a spreadsheet.
Australian Open 2009 Roger Federer VS Rafael Nadal
It was the first grand slam of the year and hopes were high that the two champions were to meet again in the Australian Open 2009 final. And so they did.

Does Asian Consumer Prefer To Shop Offline?
Have you ever wonder why eBay really can’t pick up steam or any speed from the Asian countries to get more buyers/users into their system? Is it because of competition? Or are Asians lazy to buy online and offline shopping is just so convenient in Asian countries? At least my knowledge tells me that eBay in Malaysia ain’t doing any good due to an earlier market pioneer lelong.com.my getting most of those B2C traffic and attention. Well, at least Australia’s eBay affiliate program is still well and alive.

Can You Afford To Lose Your Job?
Most people will say no. But what if it really happens? What do you really lose and is it losing the only right word to use in that situation? Couldn’t it be another chance to think, reflect and improve ourselves? Could it be all bad and no good at all? Didn’t someone once said that you have to lose in order to win? Losing your job might mean losing your most direct income but doesn’t it also mean you gain some time (I don’t say “free time” since time is not free) and think about what you’ve really done in your job and would you really want to continue doing that or swicth course? It’s also true to say people who have brains, quality and connections won’t be out of job for long anyway. Agree? Disagree?
Social Security = Ponzi Scheme?
Different countries have different names of calling their own version of the social security, but it’s essentially the same thing no matter where you are. I was reading about the Bernard Madoff’s $USD50 Billion Ponzi Scheme and can see why some people are questioning (1 2) whether social security is as good as a ponzi scheme or even sustainable at all.
What’s Next: Credit Card Debt Crisis?
So what caused people with large credit card debts to get into that position in the first place anyway? Instant satisfaction? Shopping temptations? Luxury sportcars and holiday trips? Mortgage repayments? Margin lending? Or was it that the banks did a really good marketing campaign in blurring your own rational eyes and brain system?

How To Make Money Using The Internet
The internet has open up a possibility for people to make money online. Since we know that we can actually earn money online, the question isn’t about how much you can earn, but how do you earn. The shortest answer would be to create value, and the next answer is to actually connect people.

Dirty Wall Street, Greedy Bastards, Idiots, Lies and Bullshit Rating System
Forgive me if I feel a bit skeptical about the finance and banking industry at the moment. It seems like this whole recession problem that we are having now thanks to the subprime is all due to greed itself and there was really nothing to govern it and pull the plug when they were already seeing it coming. But then, why would anyone in the industry want to pull the plug anyway?
