Aren’t you sick of the word “Recession” in the headlines these days? Indexes, Shares, Superannuation funds (equivalent of social security in Australia) has shrinked to their lowest level in 5-10 years.
Personally, I somtimes wish I could control the money in my superannuation fund. Investing those money in building websites, community and PPC are way more profitable then to believe that a monkey fund manager can take care of my money.
Newspaper and magazine sales will obviously slow due to the recession while the internet, online sites and community growth are stronger then ever. When people says blogging and building websites is stupid, I think they need to think smarter. It does take some amount of work, but you can be sure that revenue will be consistent with a fairly low risk.
And who says monetizing with Adsense only won’t work? Just look at topix, softpedia, brothersoft and business.com. If you can get a directory/portal with some user interactions (reviews and ratings is a good start) just like those sites do, the possibilities are simply endless while you can laugh all the way to the bank.
