After almost 7 years of partnership with CJ and Valueclick, Ebay has decided that they will build, use and mantain their own in house affiliate network. Is this bad news for CJ or what? I know there are affiliates who sign up with CJ only so that they can get to Ebay’s offer.
According to the announcement, the new system will have:
– Easy global registration to multiple countries simultaneously
– New, targeted banners and rich media creatives
– New landing page optimization and geo-targeting capabilities
– More detailed reporting capabilities for eBay’s programs
Affected eBay and Half.com affiliates will be required to move their affiliate links over to the eBay Partner Network by May 1t, 2008. eBay will continue its valued partnership with ValueClick’s technology division, Mediaplex, for ad serving, tracking and other custom projects
The ony thing that I’m not very pleased with CJ is that there are no free product data feeds. When other competing netwroks are giving them out for free, why can’t CJ do the same, even when they advertise themselves as the #1 affiliate network to work with in the industry?
