Affiliate marketers in the Google Affiliate Network (formerly Performics) will now be able to get their payments accrued into Google Adsense and get paid according to the adsense payment cycle. Affiliate marketers will need to link your GAN account with an existing or new adsense account by 12th September 2009. Personally, I’ve been an adsense publisher before going into affiliate marketing and this is a good change in my opinion.
Here’s a summary for those who are concern about the change and differences in the payment options
Frequency of payments:
Old: Bi-monthly payments.
New: Payments will be made monthly according to the AdSense payment schedule, subject to various Google Affiliate Network advertiser payment terms and reconciliation times. Depending on the payment terms, Google Affiliate Network earnings will be scheduled between 60 and 90 days from the month that the earnings were generated.
Payment thresholds:
Old: US$50 payment threshold. (Note: Payments through the old structure will still be subject to this threshold.)
New: US$100 AdSense payment threshold. Earnings for any Google product that pays through AdSense are aggregated. Please refer to AdSense help for more information on AdSense payment thresholds and information about thresholds for other security measures and currencies.
Reporting:
Old: Payment reports emailed to publishers at the time of payment.
New: Payment reports (including withheld earnings) emailed to the primary publisher user upon posting to the linked AdSense account.
Payment options:
Old: Physical check or ACH deposit to US bank account in US dollars.
New: All payment options, including multiple forms of payment and currencies, available through AdSense.
Payment/profile information:
Old: Contact Google Affiliate Network publisher support to change payment information.
New: Update your own account information in AdSense.
