I was having this discussion with a friend about salary and pay rises in Australia. He’s a baker, works around 12 hours per day, Monday to Sunday and getting paid around 80k after tax.
Blue collar jobs which involves more manual labor seems to be paying way more per hour in Australia as far as I’m concern, or so it may seems from most of the sources and people who I’ve talked to or heard from. These kind of jobs ranges from bakers, plumbers, chefs, brick layers and construction workers and it ain’t a surprise to learn that salary before tax can go up to 120k per annum.
Then what about a white collar worker? In my opinion, unless you’re working in finance, legal or oil and gas related industries, the hope of getting a fat pay check every month is pretty limited. But I might be wrong.
What other jobs do you think attracts a decent salary in Australia?

Find out about a career where YOU are the only limit to your income potential, you still get to use your IT skills, annd you set your own hours.
