Novak Djokovic has done it. He’s the first Serbian and the youngest (age 20) to win a grand slam title. Novak Djokovic won the Australian Open 2008 finals against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (age 22) of France with 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 7-6(7-2).
Personally, I would had wanted Tsonga to win the tournament. I like watching him play more than Novak. I wonder if there’s any French supporters, as their numbers are seriously dwarfed by people holding Serbian flags and keep on shouting Novak during the match.
I don’t understand it but both Novak and his father are really quite annoying. What do you mean you get no support when the Serbian flag is waved the most throughout the whole tournament and the Serbians are shouting so loud? Novak’s dad even request to have the France supporters who were sitting behind him moved. Can’t stand it when their whole family shout and cheer like crazy when Novak wins a point. Yeah, I know it’s family support, but the expression and reaction coupled with too much of that makes people feels really sick. And he’s got two brothers who are still in the junior’s section, so this “tradition” will surely last for quite some time. Just give me a break. I’m just glad it’s over and hope that there won’t be a next time.
Nevertheless, both men shown great talent and determination. Novak had a cramp on his left leg and was looking a bit uneasy while serving in the last set, but yet he didn’t allow Tsonga to break any of his sets. Tsonga’s you-are-in-top-10-and-so-what attitude was also impressive, giving Novak serious challenge. It was this kind of spirit and quality that broguht him into the finals after defeating No.9 seed Andy Murray and took out three more seeds in Richard Gasquet (No.8), Mikhail Youzhny (No.14) and Rafael Nadal (No.2) along the way to the finals. He was also the only person in this tournament to win a set from Novak (in the first set)

For the chicken who don’t even dare to leave a real name and real email address,
i don’t care if he’s a serbian or whatever nationality, and it doesn’t matter if he rise to world number 1 or whatever. Novak played well, but I still prefer to support other players, whether you like it or not.
