Rising stars will often be promoted from within, because upper management can easily observe if they have the right skill sets, even if they lack the standard level of experience.

There’s no denying employers and recruiters rely on the intangibles when deciding if a candidate has what it takes to go the distance. However, the most important (ingredients are) personality and people skills.
