Nintendo is simply a marvelous company. They were the the early innovators of modern video games. Remember the Nintendo Micro Genious and Gameboy? But they were not doing good with their second generation video game console which was the Nintendo Gamecube, where Playstation 2 was obviously the king and Xbox picking up the second seat.
Enter December 2006, when Nintendo Wii and Sony Playstation 3 was launched at the same month. (Microsoft debut their Xbox 360 back in December 2005). It merely turn the tables in a short period of time. While Sony and Microsoft are both losing money for each console sold, Nintendo is obviously the only company that can laugh all the way to the bank.
Topping the sales chart everywhere with record console and game sales, they’ve got games for everyone from age 3-100 (young to old) and appeal to both male and female gamers. And who dare say that their games are not fun? And suddenly Mario, Donkey Kong, Sonic, and Zelda are revived and so hot these days.
Nintendo is obviously a company which had done good planning, being innovative in engineering, and applied the right strategies in their sales and marketing campaign. And thanks to that, Nintendo is now a top 10 Japanese company and share prices has soared to record heights in 2007. Expect more of them in 2008.
