The Wimbledon 2008 finals witnesses both Roger Federer and Rafal Nadal played 5 sets all to the end to have a winner. It was really the fight of the year. Can’t realy put it into words on how exciting the match was. You simply have to watch it.
I started watching during the third set, when Roger was down 2 sets (6-4, 6-4). My friends and I were playing Wii at the moment, but all of us got hooked to watch this wimbledon final when I make the switch. And we never regreted that.
Being a Roger Federer fan, I was practically screaming especially when Roger was down 5-2 in the 7th game of the 4th set.
Anyhow, it was Rafal Nadal who won Wimbledon 2008. The final score was
6-4, 6-4, 6-7 (5-7), 6-7 (8-10), 9-7
Call that improvement. It’s the third time these 2 top players meet in a Wimbledon finals. Roger won in straight sets during the first meet, while Rafal was able to pull a set back last year, and this year he won it.
It’s Rafal first Wimbledon title, 5th grand slam title, and he’s only 22! Not a bad year for Rafal as he also won the French 2008 title against who else but Roger Federer, and most importantly – it was a straight set win.
That make Rafal the first French Open – Wimbledon double winner since Borg in 1980.
Who say Rafal Nadal can’t play on grass?
