A friend was asking me what do you need to start a website (starting as in owning your own, instead of using a free account such as from Blogger). Technically speaking, you will need to have at least two things, a web hosting account and a domain name.
1. A web hosting account to host your page, contents, files (basically, you pay to put your files onto thsese companies hard drive so that they can handle *serving* it to the world wide web).
2. A domain name
You register a domain name from companies who call themselves a domain registrars. Like web hosting companies, there are lots of domain registrars out there, and here are just a small list of the popular ones.

I just bought a domain name ynotsellit.bz I want to take it to Homesteadsitebuilder to build my site. How do I do that? I’ve been on this computer for 8 hour reading questions and getting no where. I’d like to cancel with google and reregister the name with homestead. I’ve got their server field address that they say I can have google point to homestead however I don’t know how to do this. Please help me.

When you say “reregister the name with homestead”, I assume you mean changing your domain registrar from google to homestead.
“I can have google point to homestead” – If you want to transfer domain registrar to homestead, forget about that. You’ll only need to do that IF you want to mantain your domain with google and host your site and content with homestead.
